Can someone please confirm the renewal fee required for EAD application (I-765).
My I-485 receipt date is Aug 2, 2007., notice date Sep '07.
However, my AOS application was filed under the old fee structure ($395) pursuant to July 2007 bulletin.
My company's attorney has submitted the application without fee, and USCIS has issued a receipt notice...i.e., they have not rejected the application.
In 2008, I paid the renewal fee when I applied on my own.
My understanding is that fee is required as per I-765 form instructions (page 7). My EAD is expiring mid of August and have been waiting, but not sure what to do
1. Is there a chance that my EAD application will be approved without fee ?
2. Should I just send checks and write cover letter on why fee is required ?
3. Should I send another application, but this time with the fee ?

It is currently taking a long time to adjudicate MTR's ( for some more than a year or so ) . I would say file a MTR and also file a new perm labor . I suggest going with EB3 rather than EB2 since rules for EB2 are now more stricter than before along with more scrutiny and RFE's. But its your own choice.
I think the new labor would get approved before you get a response for your MTR. If they clear the original labor well and good or else you would at least have the new one .

it is very easy to get it done. You take money , go to scotia bank branch - there are tons of them there & get it done. Takes about 5 min. only. But go to Canada a day before to avoid any problems.

My job as Mechanical Engineer is stable and employer is willing to help me. I have a PhD in Engineering with about 30 years experience in industry and teaching. However, because of industry work I do not have many publications. I am a Fellow of IEI and a recognised PhD guide in Indian University, can get good recommendations too. Can I try for EB1 in some catagory?

I was told by my attorneys para leagal (so who knows if this is true or not....) that the ITIN number is the same number that will be issued in the form of ssn.

Labor has to be pending 1 year. I think you will get your PERM approval soon as DOL at present is free.
Be prepared with the paper work for your I-140 premium so that you can file it as soon as you get the PERM approval.
The lawyers will say it will take them no time but they will delay it by at-least 3 weeks to get the paper work done.
In the worst case go for a vacation for 4 months to Canada, get your paper work mailed to you, get the extension stamping done and be back.

Hi cakewalkr7!
For your first question, the reason is that when animating, the height of an element is not what gets changed by default when you use the adorners. A RenderTransform with ScaleY changes instead.
What you want to do is set the actual Height property to 0 on the properties inspector at a given keyframe. That should give you the effect that you want. Here is a small XAML snippet that allows you to do that:

Numbers USA cares about total number of immigrants per year.
If you move visa numbers from EB1, EB2 and EB3 to EB5 with fancy tactics like hard country quota(What Specter and Frist bills are doing), they dont really care.
They will be happy if the GRAND TOTAL of all greencards per year is brought down from number X to number Y. The grand total is a total of all Greencards: Family Based, Employment based, Diversity, Refugee etc.

I just wanted to get some input from the veterans here who have started a business in partnership while they have been waiting for the coveted green card.
What kind of legal paperwork does it take to start a business? I would think as long as you don't work for the business it should be ok? If you can own part of a corporation (stocks), you can be a partner in a business?
Ideas?
If you are in H1B status, you can start your business by investing, but not working. You can not work for your business to get paid, but you can get profit sharing. In Wisconsin, when you register, you need a President/CEO who can legally work for your business. You can check with your state and register your business there. Probably, you even can register online in some state. Of cause, later on, you will need help from your accountant, laywer, etc.
If you have Green Card or EAD, that is not a problem to run by yourself.

you could use an imagemap but i'd say slice it up and read a tutorial on switching from ps7 to image ready so you can change the rollover states. just look it up in google
