I'm going to make a wild and crazy shot: Apple is teaming up with Bang & Olufsen and sell TV's with build-in Atv's.

Even more entertaining is the fact that Apple is so arrogant they fail to realize how stupid they look.

    Suing their biggest vendor.

It doesn't get any more stupid than that.

Samsung is so arrogant, they fail to realize how stupid they look.

Ripping off their biggest customer. Then suing their biggest customer.

It doesn't get any more stupid than that.

    What is apple complaining about

I think this is a lawsuit its best for everyone to avoid.

Another repost of this picture that was long since debunked. The picture claims that the Samsung F700 was showed first on Cebit 2006. If you google for "Samsung Cebit 2006" and then for "Samsung Cebit 2007", the first finds lots of photos of Samsung phones that look completely different than any iPhone, the second finds a tech website that dug out a link to their own reporting from Cebit 2007 where the F700 was shown as a reply to the iPhone and the LG phone.

Well they won't be charging me.

I'm sure Apple will be heartbroken that you won't be gobbling resources without paying.

    If it's worth anything, it's worth $20/year.

I own two mice, a Logitech MX 1000 and the Mighty Mouse that came with my iMac. I only use the Mighty Mouse when my MX 1000 is charging.

Needless to say, I'm thinking about buying a third mouse. That Mighty Mouse is so bad I can't even put it into words. I just don't have midget hands. I hate that thing.

Here in Phoenix I have not had too many issues. i get full strength signal most of the time and almost always 3g. however there are a few places i have that and still cannot get data, luckily its not often, and usually its in the evening which is probably heavy usage times.
You also live in a place without a lot of trees and which is relatively flat. It doesn't get much better for signal coverage. I live in an area that is about the same coverage wise and the 3G signal is ALWAYS 5 bars anywhere I go in town. 3G speeds are easily as fast as my iPhone on wifi. You and I have it good. I really do feel for people in densely populated areas like NYC and San Fran who have dismal service. You have no idea how good it can be.

lbro, chrmjenkins, and jav6454 all looked around trying to figure out what planet the magic glowing button sent them to. What they saw looked a bit like a congested downtown, with office buildings and garbage everywhere. When they opened the door to get out, they where overwhelmed by a stench. A stench so great, even jav6454 could feel its burn.

With the computer unable to tell them the planet (silly operating system), they set off for the closest building. Getting nearer, they heard noises that sounded like a person being held captive. "jav6454, give me your leg." chrmjenkins asked. "My what?" "Your leg, just give it to him." lbro said. jav6454 detached his leg and hobbled along after them into the building. When they got inside, they saw a huge open room with a flower pot in the middle of it. "Well, there isn't anything in here. Let's go." jav6454 said, still wanting his leg back so he could kick lbro with it.

Just then there was a squeaking sound from the rafters. They all looked up to see the biggest mouse they had ever seen. chrmjenkins peed himself, lbro fainted, and jav6454 fell over. The mouse jumped down and started to move toward lbor. chrmjenkins, having only just met him, did not want lbro to die by the teeth of a giant mouse.

Then chrmjenkins jumped up, grabbed jav6454's leg and started to viciously beat the giant mouse with it. It only took 14 hits before the mouse was no more. It vanished into a puff of trans-dimensional smoke. Now feeling quite good about his physical abilities, he gave jav6454 his leg back and together they dragged lbro back to the ship. Once inside, chrmjenkins pushed the magic glowing button. For he did not want to go into any more of the office buildings.

When the ship came back into being, they all looked out the window. lbor recognizing the planet shouted "Mammariea! Mammariea! We are finally here! Take the ship down!" Down went the ship though the clouds.

Eldiablojoe was a wolf. This is the start of a 24 hour limited night.

Care to elaborate? I realize I haven't had my coffee yet but makes sense on this end.

    Never been suspended for non-payment.
Dropped a $10/month third line from plan ~ 6 months ago.

Although, now that I'm waking up more, I did lower my rate plan as well a few months ago. The 2 of us weren't using 1400 minutes anymore, so we went down to 550. This must be the cause of it.

"we went down to 550" <---THIS

You went down to 550 and expected an early upgrade?

Also, you don't need to be suspended for non-payment, if the payment is late at all they'll consider it for the early upgrade date.

As I mentioned in an earlier comment, my early upgrade is still set for 6/25/2011, and I bought the iPhone 4 on launch day 6/24/2011.

Read through this thread. Look at other sites that picked this up. Look at what you did.

    Think next time.

Nice update. Some really nice to have features, but I'm not totally depressed about buying my 2.16ghz MBP 3 months ago (not that I could have waited, really).

be satsisfied with what you have when you needed it... i got my 17" MBP only 3 weeks ago with no regrets and i love this thing, i don't need all that's there in the update, what i have now will suffice until the next time i need a new computer :D :D :D

Of all the things that iPhone needs soon, LTE is not one of them.

We can all wait until its widespread, and usable.
Correct, while most of the world is committed to LTE, commercial grade operational networks are not online in most markets, although deployment is happening right now.

What makes the most sense right now is bumping up the iPhone to HSPA+. Practically all GSM/UTMS markets have commercial networks open for business right now (the U.S. is basically the last), many markets have already gone to their third iteration of HSPA+ (speed increases).

Sober up, Steve. Less time on Time Machine and more time on solidifying the system.

AppleTalk: Who uses it, and why?

I'm pretty sure that any time you use Personal file sharing, you are using AppleTalk.

EDIT: More info... Personal File Sharing is based off of Apple Filing Protocol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Filing_Protocol). From wikipedia:

AFP versions 3.0 and greater rely exclusively on TCP/IP (port 548 or 427) for establishing communication, supporting AppleTalk only as a service discovery protocol. The AFP 2.x family supports both TCP/IP and AppleTalk for communication and service discovery. Many third-party AFP implementations use AFP 2.x, thereby supporting AppleTalk as a connection method. Still earlier versions rely exclusively on AppleTalk. For this reason, some older literature refers to AFP as "AppleTalk Filing Protocol". Other literature may refer to AFP as "AppleShare," the name of the Mac OS 9 (and earlier) AFP client.

It doesn't get any more stupid than that.

Samsung is a parts manufacturer, not designer, for some of Apple's components. Apple has also been moving to another manufacturer, many of them in fact, over the past few months...also, you've got this backwards, Apple is Samsung's biggest customer.

And the 13" MBP pulls 48W instead of it's 35W TDP. It's interesting.

I wish we had seen comparable numbers for the current MBA. Does it pull more than advertised under load? How much? If not, why not? Is turbo boost to blame?

The 35W is only the TDP of the processor. It doesn't include the harddrive, screen, chipset, battery charger, etc. So that's perfectly normal.

Also, TDP is not a perfectly accurate figure for power draw. It's the maximum a computer designer should budget for, both in terms of power supply, cooling, etc. So it means that in any case the sustained power draw of the processor alone won't exceed this.

It is, however, perfectly possible that the CPU draws much less power, even in a high-load situation. That could possibly be true for the current C2D's in the MBA, because they are a bit older and therefore intel might have got the process developed a bit more efficiently. So it could well be that the C2D's are working at powers below their TDP budget, while the Sandy Bridge ones are reaching the top of their budget.

Just ordered mine, can't wait as my 2008 model is starting to struggle, especially with some of the photo editing software that plugs in to Photoshop, and Premiere Pro CS5 dies a death when trying to do anything remotely exciting!

    3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
    8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
    2TB Serial ATA Drive
    AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5
    Apple Magic Mouse
    Apple Wireless Keyboard

As with Zomberunner, I will upgrade memory to 16GB at a later date from Crucial.

good job everyone, including plutonius and appleguy

now it is basically one spanking new 6-villagers game, starting tonight, with one wolf, one seer and likely one hunter.
with a twist: both the seer and the hunter could also be the wolf.
    everyone is suspect.

make it a short night guys, see you all tomorrowUmmm, I'm not sure this game is over yet... there's still an infected Villager out there...

Tons of iPhone 4's being sold right now on both Att and Verizon... See it everyday

Yup. Last week I was one of those at the Apple store buying the iPhone 4. I was hoping to hold off until v5.0 came out but my v3.0 iPhone decided that the time was now. In the 30 minutes that I was buying/activating the phone six other people were doing the same thing.

Line at the Spectrum is now at about 20 people.

They're very nice and I love the look, but a little too expensive maybe soon if I can justify the purchase.

I think the price has to do with it being not just hand made in general, but also hand stitched. They were telling me that hand stitching is stronger and easier to repair over what any machine can do, but takes a lot longer to do. They're really down to earth folks. Just a younger couple trying to make a living at a trade.

That is why iPhone (4) sales will remain close to zero until the iPhone 5 introduction. A white iPhone 4 will not change that very much.
